On Sunday, May 27, 2018, the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office investigated a vehicle parked in the middle of the roadway off South Stewart Road. Deputies made contact with the driver, who immediately made a disturbance and fled on foot into a wooded area. The driver, identified as 36-year-old Michael Huffman of Rockhold, was located after a search. While being taken into custody, he continued to create a disturbance. He was charged with DUI, fleeing police, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Huffman was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
