Governor Matt Bevin has appointed James Banks, of Rogers, as Magistrate for the Third District of Wolfe County. Banks’ appointment fills the vacancy left by the retirement of Garrett Denniston. Banks serves as Magistrate of the Third District of Wolfe County from 1994-2003. During his time as Magistrate, Banks worked closely with Congressman Hal Rogers on the PRIDE project. This appointment will take effect immediately. Banks will serve until the position is filled in accordance with the results of the November 2018 midterm election, pursuant to the provision of Section 152 of the Kentucky Constitution.
