Knox County Burglary Suspect Charged While Incarcerated for Unrelated Offense

On Tuesday, May 8, Knox County Deputy Sam Mullins responded to a reported burglary at a residence on Valentine Branch Road in Cannon. During his investigation, Deputy Mullins obtained a video of a gray Dodge Neon involved in the burglary. The owner of the vehicle was identified and advised deputies the vehicle had been loaned to a man identified as Jason Swearengin. Further investigation revealed that Jason Swearengin had posted some of the stolen items for sale on Facebook. The suspect had been arrested on unrelated charges on May 28, 2018 and was incarcerated in the Know County Detention Center. On Wednesday, May 30, 2018, Jason Swearengin, 44, of Cannon, was charged with burglary and criminal mischief. He remains lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
