On Friday, June 1, 2018, shortly before midnight, Hazard Police received a call stating an employee of Captain D’s on Village Lane had been robbed. Officers arrived on scene and discovered that as two employees were leaving, a man approached them brandishing a firearm and demanded money. After an employee handed over cash, the perpetrator then demanded the keys to the employee’s truck. The perpetrator then fled the scene in the employee’s 2009 White Ford Ranger single cab truck with tinted windows. The truck was later recovered and processed for evidence. The incident remains under investigation.
