Two Arrested in Laurel County After Allegedly Stealing Vehicle, Crash through Gate

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office arrested two individuals the morning of June 6, 2018. The arrests occurred around 5:23am after deputies were dispatched to a complaint of two subjects in a business parking lot off West Cumberland Gap Parkway who appeared to be intoxicated. Information was received that the two had allegedly stolen a truck from United Rental and drove it through a gate that surrounded the parking lot. An investigation was conducted and the driver, Kylen Lovett, 22, of Gray, was in possession of drugs, while his passenger, Shasta Cook, 34, of Corbin, was under the influence. They were arrested and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
