The Martin County Sheriff’s Office is issuing a scam alert to residents. The office is warning citizens to not give out any personal or financial information to scammers attempting to obtain your information or money. Scammers are impersonating members of law enforcement and the IRS calling people and threatening them with arrest in exchange for money. If you receive a call from the scammer, get their number, hang up, and immediately contact the sheriff’s department.
