On Monday, June 11, 2018, around 7pm, the Hazard Police Department received a complaint of possible drug activity at 165 Baker Avenue. Sgt. James Whitaker and Major James East conducted an investigation at the location, which resulted in the arrest of Ellis Johnson. Authorities seized scales, baggies, and over 18 grams of methamphetamine. Johnson was charged with trafficking in controlled substance. Sgt. Whitaker is continuing the investigation.
