Knox County Deputies Respond to Call of Son Pointing Handgun at Mother

Around 11:45pm Monday, June 11, 2018, Knox County Deputies received a complaint involving a son reportedly pointing a handgun at his mother at a residence on Eagle Ridge Road, south of Barbourville. The mother advised that she had talked him into letting her leave the residence and that he had threatened to shoot anyone who came to the residence or shoot himself. Deputy Mikey Ashurst made contact with the subject, identified as 36-year-old James Lambert, who opened the door of the residence and pointed the gun at himself as he went back inside. Following about 30 minutes of negotiations, deputies rushed inside the residence and arrested the subject after he was observed using the telephone. Lambert was charged with wanton endangerment and resisting arrest. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
