Four Arrested in Connection with Missing Person Investigation

Four have been arrested in Laurel County in connection with a missing person case. Sherry T. Rose, 58, was last reported seen at her workplace at Walmart in southern Laurel around 6pm on June 12, 2018. Around 4am Tuesday, June 19, 2018, a body in a state of decomposition was found in Clay County off Reynolds Road, near the Laurel County line. The body will be sent to the crime lab in Frankfort for autopsy and positive identification. Officials at this time believe the deceased to be Sherry Rose. Detective Sgt. Chris Edwards with the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office learned that an apparent physical altercation took place at the victim’s residence off Thoroughbred Trail around 2pm Friday, June 15, 2018. The altercation between the victim, her daughter, and son-in-law resulting in the stabbing death of Rose. Christie McFadden, 28, and her husband, 31-year-old Joseph McFadden, allegedly purchased materials to clean up the crime scene, as well as used the victim’s debit card to withdraw $500. The accused allegedly put Rose’s body in a suitcase and transported her in the trunk of her car to a rural location to dispose of the body with the help of two other individuals. The McFaddens, along with 48-year-old Michael Hinkle and 24-year-old Cody Hinkle, were arrested and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
