Floyd County Sheriff’s Office Issues Phone Scam Alert

The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office is reporting phone scam. An individual is reporting calling residents and identifying themselves as a Deputy Sheriff. The caller tells residents there is a warrant for their arrest and if they pay a certain amount today with their credit card it would satisfy the court and the warrant would be recalled. The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office is notifying the public that the caller is not associated with their office or any office of the courts. If you receive a call like this, record the caller’s phone number and details of the call and report it to the Kentucky Attorney General’s Office in Prestonsburg at 606-889-1821.
