A third suspect in the shooting of a Wise County man has been apprehended. In the morning hours of June 20, 2018, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office received a call that 24-year-old Lewis Hickman III had approached a residence near the Wise/Lee County line requesting to use the phone. A Wise County Sheriff’s Office Investigator and Virginia State Police Troopers near the area responded to the residence. Hickman was located in the front yard and taken into custody without incident. Hickman, along with Paige Carroll and Aaron Adams, were charged with attempted first degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, aggravated malicious wounding, conspiracy to commit malicious wounding, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. The charges stem from a shooting incident that occurred on Saturday, June 16, 2018. All three subjects are currently being held without bond in the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail in Duffield, VA.
