A team of information technology students at Prestonsburg High School have won the US Congressional App Challenge for the third consecutive year. Over 4,000 students in the United States participated in this competition this year. The Floyd County team consisted of Jonathan Dotson, Jacob Pitts, Blake Ratliff, and Michael Shepherd. Their app, the Ky Fishing Buddy, lists lakes in Eastern Kentucky, information about the regulation sizes for different fish for each lake, and information about fishing licenses in Kentucky. The app will be featured for one year at the U.S. Capitol Building and on the United States House of Representatives website.
