Around 11:30am Tuesday, June 26, 2018, Hazard Police received a call from the Perry County Sheriff’s Office that stated one of their deputies had been flagged down at the Murphy USA gas station near Walmart by a woman who said a men grabber her arm and tried to get her to go to his car. Hazard Police officers arrived at the scene and contact the victim, a juvenile. The victim stated she went to pay for gas and was grabbed by the man on the way back to her vehicle. After screaming for her grandmother, who was pumping gas, the man let her go and went to his car. A description of the man and vehicle was given to police, which was located in the Walmart parking lot. A suspect, identified as Keith Reavis, was detained after returning to the vehicle. Following victim and witness statements, along with video surveillance footage from the scene, Reavis was arrested and charged with attempted kidnapping and lodged in the Kentucky River Regional Jail.
