The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 complaint around 11:38pm on Monday, June 25, 2018, reporting a heated domestic dispute between a male and female subject. The male alleged threatened to cut the female’s tongue out. The call was determined to be at White Oak Road. The suspect’s vehicle was located traveling on White Oak Road and pursuit ensued. The male driver, identified as 43-year-old Shawn Mulrenin, allegedly struck the female in the head several times and drove off while she attempted to exit the vehicle. Deputies found the driver in possession of a pipe used to smoke meth. Mulrenin was arrested on several charges and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center. The female victim was checked at the scene by emergency personnel.
