A scam alert has been issued in West Liberty. The West Liberty Police Department is reporting citizens are receiving calls from an individual saying they represent Global Winners International. The caller stated to the victim they had won a new Mercedes and attempted to solicit a sum of money reportedly to pay the taxes. The phone number they called from was 876-286-7272. Citizens are reminded to not send unknown persons money and never give out personal information over the phone.
