US 23 North Bound in Prestonsburg was briefly shut down the afternoon of Thursday, June 28, 2018. A coal spill occurred on the roadway near the Prestonsburg exit. Kentucky Department of Transportation personnel and the Prestonsburg Fire Department responded to the scene to assist with cleanup. The road was reopened shortly before 4pm.
