SUV Clipped at Railroad Crossing in Louisa

An accident occurred in Louisa on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, involving a train and an SUV. Louisa Police and Fire Departments responded to the scene on Franklin Street around 9:28am, where they discovered a 2002 GMC SUV, driven by 49-year-old Victor Penix, had been struck in the front end by an oncoming CSX train. Penix had misjudged the crossing and failed to notice the oncoming train. While attempted to back his vehicle up, his front bumped was clipped by the train. No injuries were reported at the scene.
