On Sunday, July 8, 2018, a report was made to the Hazard Police Department by a woman who had parked her car on Main Street and exited the vehicle along with her two small children. When she returned to the car, a note was found on it which contained a sexually explicit reference about one of her young children. Sgt. Zach Miller began investigating and surveillance footage from a neighbor building showed the suspect, identified as 58-year-old James Henson. He was arrested around 4:25pm on Monday, July 9, 2018 and confessed to leaving the note on the car. Henson was charged with stalking and lodged in the Kentucky River Regional Jail.
