On Monday, July 9, 2018, the Harlan County Sheriff’s Office made a drug arrest in the Baxter community. While on patrol, deputies attempted to stop a vehicle, which attempted to flee. Upon stopping, the passenger exited the vehicle, throwing several baggies containing suspected methamphetamine. The operator of the vehicle, identified as 35-year-old Henry Fee, of Baxter, was arrested and charged with fleeing or evading police, operating on DUI suspended license, and other traffic violations. The passenger, identified as 22-year-old Dylan Brewer, of Wallins, was charged with trafficking in controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, fleeing or evading police, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bother were lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center. Additionally, Harlan County Deputies arrested 75-year-old Lloyd Simpson of Baxter on an indictment of drug trafficking. Several other indictments are active and additional arrests are pending.
