Floyd, Johnson County to Receive Nearly $200 Million in Funding for Flood Control Projects

On Wednesday, July 11, 2018, U.S. Representative Hal Rogers announced Floyd and Johnson Counties will receive nearly $200 million in funding for flood control projects. The federal funding will complete long-term disaster recovery projects, including the Town of Martin Redevelopment Plan and provide flood protection in Johnson County. Rogers said Martin has suffered ten major floods in its history, but completion of this critical flood control program is finally in sight. The completion date for the redevelopment plan is estimated as fiscal year 2025. The projected duration of the Johnson County flood control plan is to be determined.
