Following a press conference that occurred on Monday, July 16, 2018, between President of the United States Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, where President Trump said there was a strong denial of Russian interference in the 2016 election, Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes issued a statement on election security. Grimes said Kentuckians should rest assured is the security of our elections is her utmost priority.
