Dayton Ohio Man Sentenced for Making False Bomb Threat

On Thursday, July 19, 2018, a Dayton, Ohio man was sentenced to four months in prison for making a false bomb threat. Dana Carter, 40, previously admitted that, on October 22, 2016, he made a series of phone calls to the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport to falsely report that there was a bomb on an outbound United Airlines flight to Dallas, Texas. The flight was cancelled and passenger were rebooked on other flights; no bomb was located. According to the defendant, he was running late for the flight (on which he was a passenger) and made the false statements in an attempt to delay it.
