Three individuals were arrested on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 by the Martin County Sheriff’s Office. The arrests occurred in the evening hours following a traffic stop in the Bowentown community. A search of the vehicle found suspected methamphetamine. Deputies arrested Amanda Kirk, 42, and Shawn Hopkins, 23, both of Inez, charging them with possession of controlled substance. In addition to the charge of possessing methamphetamine, a third subject, 27-year-old Steven Meade, of Inez, was charged with failure to maintain required insurance, failure to produce insurance card, and failure to register transfer of motor vehicle. All three were lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
