On Monday, July 30, 2018, the Perry County Sheriff’s Department received a call around 3:30pm of a male subject under the influence of drugs in the parking lot of the Butterfly Church of the Living God on Couchtown Road. Sergeant Ruey Couch responded to the scene and made contact with the subject, identified as Joshua Hoffman, in the parking lot of the church. Through investigation, it was determined he was under the influence. Hoffman was charged with public intoxication and lodged in the Kentucky River Regional Jail.
