Boyd County Clerk Debbie Jones has received a grant totaling $18,000 from the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives to preserve and manage local government records. Funds for the program come from fees enacted by the Kentucky General Assembly in 1984 and 2007 to preserve and retain local public records. Any local government agency can apply for this grant. Jones said they are fortunate to receive the grant, which will help their office index records that are contained on a microfilm system.
