The Kentucky State Police Post 8 in Morehead received a call from Bath County Dispatch on Friday, August 3, 2018, in reference to an alleged rape. It was determined that 32-year-old Cory Bumby, of Owingsville, had allegedly sexually abused a juvenile. Mr. Bumby has fled from the residence prior to Troopers arriving. Troopers searched the area and the suspect was later apprehended. Cory Bumby was charged with rape first degree-victim under 12 years of age, sodomy first degree- victim under 12 years of age, and unlawful imprisonment.
