Laurel County Sheriff’s Detective Gary Mehler made an arrest the morning of Wednesday, August 8, 2018. The arrested occurred around 9:55am in London, after Detective Mehler conducted an investigation into a complaint the an individual, identified as 34-year-old Christy Deaton, had allegedly threatened a female at an official court proceeding in Laurel County. The female victim obtained a warrant of arrest for terroristic threatening. In addition, the subject allegedly texted the victim, threatening her regarding a court proceeding. Deaton was charged with witness tampering and terroristic threatening. She was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
