The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office made a drug arrest on Thursday, August 9, 2018. The arrest occurred in the early morning in the McDowell community after deputies in the area received information of a male subject allegedly being involved in illegal drug activity at Doty Creek near the hospital. Deputies located the individual, identified as 26-year-old Evan Potter of Hueysville. During the investigation, Potter was discovered to be in possession of crystal meth, plastic baggies, digital scales, and a set of brass knuckles. He was arrested and charged with trafficking in controlled substance. Potter was lodged in the Floyd County Jail.
