On Thursday, August 16, 2018, the Hazard Police Department received a call from Arby’s on Commerce Drive reporting that money had been stolen from a deposit. Major James East responded to the scene. During the investigation, a suspect was identified as 49-year-old Tammy Rickett. During questioning, the suspect admitted to the theft and told officers where the stolen cash was hidden. The money was recovered and returned to the business. Rickett was arrested and charged with theft and lodged in the Kentucky River Regional Jail.
