On Friday, August 17, 2018, around 7:30pm, Kentucky State Police Post 8 Morehead responded to the scene of a collision at the junction of Kentucky Highway 57 and Kentucky Highway 11 in Flemingsburg. Upon arrival, it was determined that Zachary Rudd, 25, of Flemingsburg was traveling westbound on KY 57 in his white Chevrolet pickup truck at the same time Raymond K. Jones, 40, of Dover, was making a left turn on to KY 57 from KY 11 in his black Nissan Altima when both vehicles collided. Rudd did not sustain any injuries in the collision. His passenger, 26-year-old Mary Berry of Maysville, was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Hospital for treatment. Raymond K. Jones was also airlifted to the UK hospital for treatment. His passenger, 18-year-old Raymond H. Jones, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other juveniles involved in the collision were treated for minor injuries. The collision remains under investigation.
