Perry Student Detained Following Threat on Social Media

Perry County Central High School was placed on lockdown the morning of Thursday, August 23, 2018. According to officials, the lockdown was a precautionary measure based on a social media post that brought to the school’s attention. The Hazard Police Department determined the identity of the student and they were detained. The police department said they are continuing the investigation. The lockdown was lifted after 9am.
