Tennessee Man Arrested in Lee County Virginia on Felony Gun Possession Charge

A Tennessee man was arrested in Lee County Virginia on Thursday, August 16, 2018. The arrest occurred after the man, identified as 40-year-old Zachary Seymour, pumped gas at a Happy Mart in Jonesville. After going inside to pay, he realized he did not have enough money and asked the manager if he could leave an item of value until he returned with the money. He came back inside and unloaded a .380 semi-automatic handgun and gave it to the manager. The manager contacted the Lee County Sheriff’s Office due to recent gun thefts in the area. The gun was determined to not be stolen, but Seymour was determined to be a convicted felon. He was arrested when he returned to the store. A search of his vehicle located items taken from the recent breaking and enterings and gun thefts. He was charged with being in a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. He was lodged in the Duffield Regional Jail.  Additional charges are pending.
