Scioto County Sheriff’s Office Makes Arrest Following Theft Investigation

The Scioto County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest following a theft investigation. On April 11, 2018, the Sheriff’s office was notified by a Lucasville, Ohio business owner that he had made a deal with a Proctorville man in the amount of $200,000 on February 12, 2018 for the purchase of heavy equipment that was going to be resold to make a profit. The suspect cashed the check and never produced the equipment. Following an investigation, an indictment warrant was issued for 46-year-old Anthony McQuaid on one count of aggravated theft. He was arrested on Thursday, August 16, 2018, and posted a $100,000 bond on August 17, 2018. The investigation is ongoing with more victims filing reports. Additional charges are expected at a later date.
