Big Sandy Community and Technical College is expanding the Prestonsburg Campus. Earlier this year, it was announced that the St. James Episcopal Church and the Episcopal Diocese of Lexington would be selling the property on the corner lot of the Prestonsburg Campus, which was purchased by BSCTC. While the college hoped to utilize the building, an inspection of the property determined it was not up to code and would need several hundred thousand dollars to bring it up to regulations. BSCTC President and CEO Dr. Sherry Zylka said the property will provide more green space for the college after demolition, and considered for other use in the future.
