Laurel County Deputy Injured After Responding to Domestic Violence Complaint

On Wednesday, August 29, 2018, around 1:45am, the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man following a domestic violence complaint. The arrest occurred off Robert E. Cox Road. Upon arrival at the scene, deputies learned the suspect, identified as 22-year-old Teddy Rowe, had fled the scene prior to their arrival. Deputies learned Rowe allegedly assaulted his girlfriend and struck her child. The suspect later returned to the scene while the victim and her parents gathered her belongings to leave. Deputies responded to the scene again and observed Rowe in an altercation with the victim’s father. Deputy Josh Scott received an injury to his hand while attempting to take the suspect into custody. Rowe was arrested on numerous assault charges and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
