The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office made a theft arrest on Wednesday, September 19, 2018. The sheriff’s office arrested 32-year-old Lee Roy Merritt II of Chillicothe, Ohio, following an investigation into the theft of money and merchandise from a Laurel County business. The items were allegedly stolen between August 20 and September 17, 2018 by an employee of the business. Merritt was charged with theft by unlawful taking and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
