A West Virginia couple has been arrested in Scioto County, Ohio, following a multi-state crime spree. The Scioto County Sheriff’s Office began investigating events after they received a call on August 30, 2018 of money being stolen from machines at the Splash & Go carwash in Wheelersburg. During the investigation, the suspect’s vehicle and tag number was identified as being from West Virginia. It was learned the subjects had been involved in break-ins at car washes in Kentucky, Ohio, Virginia, and West Virginia. The suspects were located at a Walmart in New Boston, Ohio on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, cashing in coins at a coin exchange machine. The couple, identified as 44-year-old James Ransom and 44-year-old Amy Daniels, were arrested and charged with theft and vandalism. They were lodged in the Scioto County Jail.
