The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest on Saturday, October 6, 2018, around 10:50am. The arrest occurred off KY 1376 after deputies attempted a traffic stop on an ATV driven on a busy roadway by a man identified as 55-year-old Carroll Smith. The vehicle failed to stop and fled from deputies but was located parked in a wood line in the vicinity. The driver fled on foot and was located in a garage nearby. Smith was charged with fleeing or evading police and operating an ATV on a roadway. He was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
