On Tuesday, October 9, 2018, Ashland Police Department field operations responded to a 911 call for an alleged assault involving a firearm in the area of May Court. Upon arrival, a vehicle was attempting to leave the scene and immediately stopped. The driver, identified as Peter Talbert, of Ashland, was discovered to have warrants of arrest in Greenup County for marijuana trafficking and carrying a concealed weapon. A search of his person discovered a concealed handgun. Talbert was also found to be in possession of crystal methamphetamine, cash, and paraphernalia. Talbert was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon, trafficking in controlled substance, and operating a vehicle on an expired driver’s license.
