The University of Pikeville’s Weber Art Gallery is currently featuring “Ordinarily Surreal” through December 11, 2018. Artists Tina Ousley and Timothy Smith will have paintings, prints, and sculpture on display during the exhibit. Inspired by her work as a professor of anatomy and biology, Ousley said her paintings are an expression of how the worlds of art and science merge and coexist. An associate professor of Art at Big Sandy Community and Technical College, Smith said his focus is not intervention, but more an exploration of form. Both artists are actively involved in the regional creative community as well as members of the Kentucky Art Tribe. The community is invited to a reception for the artists on Thursday, October 25, 2018, from 4pm to 5:30pm in the Weber Art Gallery, located on the second floor of Record Memorial Building on UPIKE’s campus.
