The Wise County Sheriff’s Office received an alert of a stolen vehicle on Thursday, October 18, 2018. The vehicle, which was stolen in Kentucky, was observed on Route 23 in Pound, Virginia. Deputy Dale Gross observed the vehicle driving erratically and attempted to stop the vehicle. The vehicle attempted to flee, striking two deputy vehicles. As the vehicle continued to the Glamorgan Intersection on Route 23, near Wise, a Wise County Deputy pulled in front to stop it as the Virginia State Police pinned it from the rear. The driver, identified as 30-year-old Erika Lucas, of Shelbiana, was transported to Norton Community Hospital for treatment of injuries. One Virginia State Trooper received minor injuries. Several charges are pending for Erika Lucas.
