On Monday, October 22, 2018, around 11:30pm, Prestonsburg Police Officers Brandon Martin and Bradley Calhoun conducted a traffic stop on a 2001 green Honda Civic on KY 302 Watergap Road in Prestonsburg after observing the vehicle operating erratically. Through investigation, officers learned the operator, identified as 43-year-old Donnie Bentley, of Prestonsburg, was operating the vehicle under the influence and a suspended license, which was revoked on previous DUI convictions. A search of the vehicle uncovered suspected methamphetamine. Bentley was arrested and charged with trafficking in controlled substance, DUI, and other charges. He was lodged in the Floyd County Detention Center.
