Suspicious Vehicle Investigation in Martin Results in Drug Arrest

On Tuesday, October 23, 2018, Martin City Police Department were patrolling the Minnie community around 2:15am, when officers noticed a vehicle parked on the new bridge of KY RT 680 with the vehicles lights on. Martin Police stopped to investigate and was assisted by the Floyd County Sheriff’s Department. Officers were told by the vehicle’s driver that she was trying to get service to check her Facebook account. A search of the vehicle was performed with consent, which discovered controlled substance inside the vehicle. Joy Hall, 61, of McDowell, was arrested on charges of possession of controlled substance and prescription not in proper container. She was lodged in the Floyd County Detention Center.
