The morning of Monday, October 29, 2018, Ashland Police officers were dispatched to a call to assist EMS on a possible deceased male on Floyd Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered a suspected drug overdose of Lawrence Hardin, of Ashland. Following the collection of evidence and interviews, police arrested Jeran Dishman, of Ashland. Dishman was charged with manslaughter, trafficking in controlled substance, and trafficking controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school. She was lodged in the Boyd County Detention Center. The investigation is ongoing.
