On Wednesday, October 31, 2018, Governor Matt Bevin attended a ceremony with President Donald Trump at the White House celebrating the Pledge to American’s Workers. Governor Bevin signed the pledge earlier this year in support of workforce development opportunities for Kentucky workers through apprenticeships, work-based learning programs, continuing education, on-the-job training, and re-skilling. The event follows Ivanka’s Trump’s visit to Eastern Kentucky on October 26, 2018. Ms. Trump invited Kentuckians Buford Owens, an eKAMI instructor, and Alex Hughes, an Interapt Skills graduate, to attend the White House ceremony with Governor Bevin. Owens and Hughes had the opportunity to participate in a fireside chat with President Trump during the event.
