Kentucky State Treasurer Alison Ball has announced that the Ky State Treasury Unclaimed Property Division has several military items waiting to be claimed. Among the items include purple hearts and other military medals, discharge papers, and more. Military items held at the Treasury often come from lockboxes that have been abandoned or whose owners have been unable to be reached by the institution holding them. In her first two years in office, Treasurer Ball has returned over $67 million to Kentuckians in unclaimed property. To search for unclaimed property, visit treasury.ky.gov.
