The East Kentucky Science Center and Varia Planetarium recently held their 19^th Annual Regional Science Fair. More than 200 students and their families from 17 counties around the region competed for first, second, and third place honors. Professionals currently working in STEM fields from Big Sandy Community and Technical College, Floyd County Schools, The Challenger Learning Center, The Hummel Planetarium, and Alltech Laboratories served as judges.

4^th Grade:

Releigh Hamilton from Eden Elementary was the 1^st place winner for 4^th Grade with project Water Filter and Turbidity

Logan Dennison from Wrigley Elementary was the 2^nd place winner for 4^th with project A Battery That Makes Cents

Logan Feltner from W.B. Muncy Elementary was the 3^rd place winner for 4^th grade with project Shocking Fruit

 

5^th Grade:

Mileigh Kilburn from May Valley Elementary was the 1st place winner in 5th grade for project Family Fingerprints

Taylor Couch from Mt. View Elementary was the 2nd place winner in 5th grade for project Big Big Bubbles
