On Sunday, November 25, 2018, around 7:45am, the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest after observing a male subject in a parking lot off US 25. Deputy Joey Robinson when he observed 27-year-old Logan Smallwood near a vehicle in a parking lot there. Upon observing the deputy, Smallwood fled into a field across the roadway before returning to Deputy Robinson. An investigation was conducted and he was found in possession of a white substance believed to be methamphetamine and a clear pipe with a snorting straw inside. Smallwood was charged with possession of controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. He was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
