The University of Pikeville-Kentucky College of Optometry announces it will now accept not only the Optometry Admissions Test, but also the Medical College Admission Test, the Dental Admission Test, and the Pharmacy College Admissions Test for applicants seeking admission to the program. As a result of the Better Access to Quality Healthcare Act signed into law in 2011, the Kentucky College of Optometry to continue expanding optometric education and training to include a medical focus. Casey Price, associate director of admissions, said accepting MCAT scores and other professional exams allows them to present the profession of optometry to a wider range of pre-health professional students.
