The Rowan County Coroner’s Office is investigating the death of a female who was found deceased the afternoon of Saturday, December 15, 2018, underneath the Triplett Creek bridge on Christy Creek. Morehead 911 received a call from a concerned citizen requesting police check on an individual who had not been seen for several days. Rowan County Deputy Sheriff James Damron responded and found the individual deceased. The Rowan County Coroner is requesting assistance in identifying the deceased who was commonly referred to as “the homeless lady who lives under the bridge.” The deceased is a black female approximately 60 years of age. The human remains have been sent to the State Medical examiners in Frankfort for autopsy. No foul play is suspected.
